2019 GHDR Review 5

Halfway point! This is my second but should be my fifth official checkin for my 2019 GHDR as I am kind of following Dave Seah’s masterful plan.

With everyone doing their own thing, life is weird. It is almost like I could be self-directed, but I won’t accept it.

Reminder of my 2019 Goals

My resolutions for the year broadly fall into four categories: [H]Health, [F]Friends and family, [M]Money, and [C]Curiosity.

  • I resolve to care about my Health and show it in my actions
  • I resolve to strengthen connections with Friends and Family
  • I resolve to maintain control of my Money
  • I resolve to empower my Curious and Creative side.

Let’s evaluate

  • [H]ealth: This is definitely better. I have a solid running and cross-training schedule. I’ve been engaged with meditation and eating pretty consistently low carb. I am still really sluggish, though, so my health outcome is not at the same high level that I think my health income? actions? should warrant.
  • [F]riends and family: I am keeping up with friends and family to the extent possible. I’m not isolated, and I think I’m fairly well engaged and comfortable here. I do think this has to be something that I constantly plan for and commit to, or it falls off too easily.
  • [M]Money: I have not been tracking much. I have been checking on accounts, but I have been inconstently with my spend tracking.
  • [C]Curiosity: Same, same. I draw, I study, I try new things. I am getting faster at coming up with and sketching ideas for my drawings. The actual drawings are still not great, but I think I am on the right track.

Insights

I have to be very conscious toward making time for friends and family or it falls to the side of all the little, less meaningful, things that happen with time.

Looking forward

I love summer. I am hoping to spend as much time outside as possible and soak up the days with the dog and with my running friends.
