Reading Log 2022
I logged 115 books, and I know that there were a some I read and never even put in my journal.
I ended up not having much in the way of book club last year despite my plans.
Last year’s books include some that I really enjoyed - I gave 11 books 5 stars this year!
- Ahmed Aziz’s Epic Year
- Carry On (Simon Snow, #1)
- Coyote Blue
- Essays of E.B. White
- Everything, Everything
- Firekeeper’s Daughter
- Highfire
- Humble Pi: When Math Goes Wrong in the Real World
- Pie in the Sky
- The Inquisitor’s Tale: Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog
- Wayward Son (Simon Snow, #2)
Of all of those, Firekeeper’s Daughter is the most powerfully written; a gripping narrative. The Simon Snow series is the most tropey and fun for teens and adults looking for a non-traditional romance with dragons and magicians and absolutely one of my favorite fictional characters of all time: Baz.
They also include some that I did not enjoy - I gave 1 star to 3 books.
- Brave New World - ugh
- Gingerbread - this was an incredibly strange book with a very difficult narrative to follow
- The Unicorn Project - this was for my data science book club - it was like you took a bunch of business or management books and tried to invent a fictional word to get those same blurbs
